Monclova - Covered Porch & Patio
This space was designed to extend everyday living outdoors — not just as a patio cover, but as a true outdoor room. The structure sits just off the back of the home and feels like a natural continuation of the interior: same alignment, same proportions, and a sense of shelter that makes it usable from spring through fall.
At just over 20 feet wide, the porch has enough space for dining, relaxing by the fire, and cooking — without feeling oversized or detached from the house. The floor level steps down to the lower patio, keeping sightlines open while naturally dividing the spaces.

Key Features
Outdoor Fireplace Wall
A masonry-built fireplace with a stone chimney, wood storage, and mantle creates the visual anchor for the porch. The TV mount is recessed cleanly into the stone face, giving the room a true focal point without clutter.
Outdoor Kitchen
An integrated cooking wall includes built-in grill, storage, trash drawer, and access panels, all centered under the roofline and anchored in stone veneer. Exact appliance cutouts were designed to fit Wolf and Blaze components with flush, millwork-style detailing.
Ceiling and Structure
The ceiling is finished in stained CVG fir, adding warmth and bringing an interior-grade finish outdoors. The open beam layout keeps the vaulted roof feeling light while still emphasizing the structure.
Stone Coordination
Bluestone is used for the upper porch floor, tying seamlessly into the stone riser and step that leads down to the lower patio. The material blend connects both levels without using railings or hard transitions.
Designed for Daily Use
This porch isn’t just a feature for the backyard — it functions like a second living space. Morning coffee, game nights, outdoor meals, or quiet evenings by the fire — the layout supports all of it. Its proportions feel intentional and close, more like a room than a shelter.
